Stony Plain is a town, not a city, and it still feels like one — which matters more to a moving crew than it sounds. The Old Town core around the Multicultural Heritage Centre and Rotary Park is genuinely historic, with more than 40 outdoor murals painted across its downtown buildings and the narrow, mature streets that come with a hundred-year-old townsite. Loading there is a street-by-street decision, not a default. At the southern edge it is a different town entirely: Genesis on the Lakes is built around a seven-acre lake, and Lake Westerra off Highway 779 mixes condos and semi-attached homes with single-family, so we are as likely to be working a shared entrance and a landscaped boulevard as a double driveway. We come in on Highway 16A and drop south on 779, and we plan the last block before we get there.

Stony Plain is the town with the painted past — more than 40 murals across the downtown — and moving here means working a genuine historic core alongside some of the newest lake communities in the metro.
Old Town versus the lakes
Stony Plain runs on the T7Z postal prefix, and the moving job changes completely depending on which end of town you are in.
Old Town and the established streets — the grid around the Multicultural Heritage Centre, Oppertshauser House, Rotary Park, and the mural district, plus Forest Green, High Park, Willow Park and Brickyard. These are mature streets: narrower pavement, established trees, single-width driveways, back lanes in places. The truck we send is the truck that fits, and we plan the carry distance up front instead of pretending a five-ton can nose into a 1960s driveway.
The southern lake communities — Genesis on the Lakes, built around a seven-acre lake just off 48 Street, and Lake Westerra off Highway 779 and Township Road 524. These are newer and better laid out, but they bring their own constraints: curving lakeside crescents, heavily landscaped boulevards we keep the truck off, and a mix of condos and semi-attached homes where the entrance is shared and the loading area is not obviously yours.
The golf-course side — St. Andrews, Graybriar, and The Fairways sit against the Stony Plain Golf Course. Quiet, desirable, and often narrow on frontage, which means truck placement is a conversation before the day rather than a guess on arrival.
Moving between Stony Plain and Edmonton
The run is Highway 779 north to Highway 16A, then the Yellowhead into the city — and we make it constantly in both directions. It is a comfortable leg for a loaded truck and it is why Stony Plain prices as a local move for us, not an out-of-town job.
The Tri-Region and the county
Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County share facilities — the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre is the obvious one — and they share our crews. Stony Plain to Spruce Grove is a short paid move we do often. Heading the other direction, acreage moves west and south into Parkland County are common and genuinely different work: gravel driveways that turn soft in spring, long approaches, and shops full of tools and equipment that need proper wrapping and a plan, not an afterthought.

Do you charge a travel fee to Stony Plain?
No. Stony Plain is inside our core service area, out Highway 16A and down 779. You get the same local rates and the same written upfront estimate as an Edmonton move.
Can you move us out of the older downtown streets near Rotary Park?
Yes — that is a normal job for us. Old Town streets are narrower with mature trees and limited frontage, so we match the truck to the street and plan the carry instead of assuming we can back to the door.
Do you move in Genesis on the Lakes or Lake Westerra?
Regularly. Both have lakeside crescents, landscaped boulevards, and a mix of attached and detached homes, so truck placement matters. Give us the address when you book and we will sort out the approach ahead of the day.
Can you do a Stony Plain acreage move into Parkland County?
Yes. Acreage jobs mean gravel approaches, long carries, and often a shop or outbuilding on top of the house, so we scope all of it on the estimate rather than surprising you later.
