“We hired Last Stop for our move from Lacombe to Cochrane. The estimate provided was accurate with our move coming in under the estimate, The move itself went very well. A team of 5 movers arrived on time and worked hard to get the job done quickly. The delivery went well with the team making sure we were completely satisfied before leaving. The only issue we had was a lack of communication as to when the team would arrive to deliver. Otherwise we are completely satisfied before leaving.”

“Polite, prompt and professional service. The young crew worked tirelessly, and actually finished the move ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Last Stop Moving”
“Moving is one of the most stressful experiences, but Last Stop Moving made it so much easier. My movers, Dave and Chol, were absolutely fantastic. They worked incredibly hard all day, and despite the physically demanding work, they remained friendly, positive, and professional from start to finish. It's not easy to maintain such a pleasant attitude while doing such tough work, and I really appreciated how respectful and courteous they were throughout the move. I also want to recognize Donte in customer service. He went above and beyond to coordinate a pickup time that fit perfectly with my apartment move-out schedule, allowing the cleaners to arrive right after the movers finished. That coordination made a huge difference and took a lot of stress off my shoulders. Donte even provided me with extra moving boxes, which was another thoughtful gesture that really helped. From beginning to end, the entire team was organized, accommodating, and genuinely cared about providing great service. I highly recommend Last Stop Moving to anyone looking for a reliable and professional moving company in Edmonton. Thank you, Dave, Chol, Donte, and the whole team for making my move such a positive experience!”
“Sami, Ezra, Brendan, Germay, Gindi were super! We had stuff going to the new location, some in storage and some moved from basement to garage. Sami confirmed where everything goes as soon as they arrived. No wasting. The crew assessed the area, placed floor mats and took care wrapping everything. They made sure the correct items were moved and placed at the right spot. I appreciate that they asked when they were unsure. Great service! Will definitely use them again!”
“Daniel, Owen and Mohammad help me move today. The boss owes them a raise! Great job guys, it went really smooth. Thanks for all your help!”

Devon exists because of oil. When Imperial Leduc No. 1 came in on 13 February 1947, Imperial Oil built a whole town to house the crews working the Leduc-Woodbend field — and it was the first community in Canada approved by a regional planning commission, laid out deliberately as four quadrants on a grid rather than sprawled. That planning is still the defining fact of a Devon move. The original quadrants have consistent, narrow residential streets, mature trees planted seventy-odd years ago, back lanes, and modest driveways: a well-organized town that was not designed around five-ton trucks. Newer parts are different again — the southeastern subdivision runs into ravines that tie into the river valley trail system, the golf course and the campground, which means grade, stairs, and split-level entries. Devon is about 26 km southwest of Edmonton on Highways 19 and 60, and it is a genuinely quick run for us.

Devon is a purpose-built town — Imperial Oil put it here in the wake of the Leduc No. 1 strike in 1947 — and the way it was planned is still the most useful thing a moving crew can know about it.
A planned town moves differently
Devon runs on the T9G postal prefix. It was designed as four quadrants on a regular grid, with recreation and amenities built in from the start, and it holds the distinction of being the first Canadian community approved by a regional planning commission. It was even named after the Devonian formation the well tapped.
For us, that history translates into a very specific kind of moving day in Old Devon: consistent street widths that were generous for 1949 and modest for a modern moving truck, mature trees arching over the pavement, back lanes behind many properties, and driveways sized for one car. These are good jobs — predictable, walkable, no surprises — provided we bring the right truck and plan whether to work the lane or the front. We decide that before the day, not while double-parked on your street.
Highwood and the newer detached streets are easier: modern layouts, double attached garages, finished basements, straightforward access.
South Ravines and the southeastern subdivision are the technical ones. Those lots run into ravines that tie into the river valley trail system, the golf course and the campground — which is beautiful, and which means grade, walkout levels, exterior stairs, and sometimes a long carry from the only place a truck can safely sit. Stairs and slope change crew size and timing, so we scope them on the estimate rather than discovering them on arrival and renegotiating.
Moving between Devon and Edmonton
This is our most common Devon job, and it is the one we have public reviews for. Devon sits about 26 km southwest of the city on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan, and Highway 60 north or Highway 19 east gets a loaded truck to Edmonton quickly. Devon is core service area for us — no out-of-town premium.
The reverse direction is common too: people leaving Edmonton for a quieter town with a river valley, 11 km of paved cycle trails, a mountain bike skills park, and Voyageur Park at the end of Saskatchewan Avenue.
Small town, full-size service
Devon is small, and small towns often get treated as an afterthought by movers — a partial crew, a rushed window, or a surcharge for the drive. We do not work that way. A Devon move gets the same written upfront estimate, the same pad-wrapping on every piece of furniture, the same trained uniformed crew, and the same insured trucks as a job in the middle of Edmonton.
We also cover the surrounding area — acreages off Highway 60 and into Leduc County — where gravel approaches, long driveways, and shops full of equipment are part of the job and belong on the estimate.
Long-distance moves from Devon
Highway 60 connects quickly to the QE2, so long-distance work out of Devon is straightforward: Calgary and Red Deer south, BC through the mountains, Saskatchewan and Manitoba east. One written estimate, our own crew, one point of contact.
What you get
- A written upfront estimate approved before we load, typically within about 4% of the final bill when you’re packed and ready.
- Everything pad-wrapped — no exceptions, no upsell.
- Trained, uniformed, insured crews in our own trucks.
- Weekend and month-end availability.

“We had Last Stop Moving move us from Devon to Edmonton. The three young men were very polite, professional and did a great job for us. I wish I could remember their names but they who they are. We will be calling you again for our next move (not to soon, I hope).”

Moving in Devon — FAQs
Do you actually come out to Devon?
Yes — regularly, and we have the Google reviews from Devon customers to prove it. It is about 26 km southwest of Edmonton on Highways 19 and 60, well inside our core service area, with no travel surcharge.
Our house is in Old Devon on a narrow street with a back lane. Is that a problem?
Not at all — it is the most common Devon job we do. We size the truck to the street rather than the house, and decide up front whether the lane or the front is the better approach.
We are on a ravine lot in South Ravines with stairs. Can you handle it?
Yes. Ravine and walkout lots mean grade and stairs, which changes crew size and timing more than it changes the price of the furniture. We scope it on the estimate so the number you get is the number you pay.
Can you move us from Devon into Edmonton?
That is one of our most common Devon jobs — we have done it and been reviewed for it. Highway 60 to Highway 19 or the QE2 makes it a short run, and it is billed at local rates.
