“We hired Last Stop for our move from Lacombe to Cochrane. The estimate provided was accurate with our move coming in under the estimate, The move itself went very well. A team of 5 movers arrived on time and worked hard to get the job done quickly. The delivery went well with the team making sure we were completely satisfied before leaving. The only issue we had was a lack of communication as to when the team would arrive to deliver. Otherwise we are completely satisfied before leaving.”

“Moving is one of the most stressful experiences, but Last Stop Moving made it so much easier. My movers, Dave and Chol, were absolutely fantastic. They worked incredibly hard all day, and despite the physically demanding work, they remained friendly, positive, and professional from start to finish. It's not easy to maintain such a pleasant attitude while doing such tough work, and I really appreciated how respectful and courteous they were throughout the move. I also want to recognize Donte in customer service. He went above and beyond to coordinate a pickup time that fit perfectly with my apartment move-out schedule, allowing the cleaners to arrive right after the movers finished. That coordination made a huge difference and took a lot of stress off my shoulders. Donte even provided me with extra moving boxes, which was another thoughtful gesture that really helped. From beginning to end, the entire team was organized, accommodating, and genuinely cared about providing great service. I highly recommend Last Stop Moving to anyone looking for a reliable and professional moving company in Edmonton. Thank you, Dave, Chol, Donte, and the whole team for making my move such a positive experience!”

“Sami, Ezra, Brendan, Germay, Gindi were super! We had stuff going to the new location, some in storage and some moved from basement to garage. Sami confirmed where everything goes as soon as they arrived. No wasting. The crew assessed the area, placed floor mats and took care wrapping everything. They made sure the correct items were moved and placed at the right spot. I appreciate that they asked when they were unsure. Great service! Will definitely use them again!”

Fort Saskatchewan is a river city northeast of Edmonton, and it is the one metro location where we plan the route around industry rather than commuters. Highways 15 and 21 are the way in, and they are also the arteries feeding Alberta's Industrial Heartland — the refineries and petrochemical plants ringing the city — so shift change genuinely changes how long a loaded leg takes. We schedule around it. The city itself splits along the North Saskatchewan: the historic core near the Fort Heritage Precinct, where the 1875 North West Mounted Police fort once stood, sits on older river-valley streets with grades and mature trees, while Southfort, SouthPointe and Sienna on the south side are newer, flatter and wider. There are also 80 km of paved trails through town, which means some newer homes back onto pathway rather than lane — front-only truck access, and we plan for it.

Our own crews and trucks — serving Fort Saskatchewan and the wider Edmonton metro.

Fort Saskatchewan is the oldest story in the metro — the North West Mounted Police built a fort on this stretch of the North Saskatchewan in 1875 — and today it is a river city wrapped in heavy industry. Both facts change how we plan a move here.

The river splits the job in two

Fort Saskatchewan runs on the T8L postal prefix, and the practical divide is the river valley.

The historic core and river side — Old Fort Saskatchewan, Fort Centre, Bridgeview, Clover Park, and the streets around the Fort Heritage Precinct and Legacy Park. These are the oldest parts of town: narrower streets, mature trees, and genuine grade where the land drops toward the North Saskatchewan. Grade matters more than most people expect on a move day — it affects where a loaded truck can safely park, how a ramp sits, and how heavy a long carry actually feels.

The south side — Southfort with its Estates, Meadows and Ridge subdivisions, SouthPointe, Sienna, Forest Ridge, Westpark, Pineview. Newer, flatter, wider, easier truck access. The trade-off is deeper lots and longer walks, plus the usual new-build cautions where building is still active.

The upscale tier — Sherridon Heights and its extension. Larger homes, larger inventories, more pieces that genuinely need to be blanket-wrapped rather than “carefully carried.”

Industry sets the schedule

This is the part that separates a Fort Saskatchewan move from a Sherwood Park one. The city sits at the edge of Alberta’s Industrial Heartland, and Highways 15 and 21 carry the traffic that serves it. At shift change those highways get heavy, and a loaded truck does not weave through traffic — it sits in it.

So we plan the loaded leg deliberately. If you have a noon key handover or a same-day possession, we will schedule the drive outside the worst of the industrial flow rather than promising a time we would have to speed to hit. And because a large share of Fort residents work those rotations themselves, early starts, weekend loads, and split days where we load one day and deliver the next are all standard options here.

Moving between Fort Saskatchewan and Edmonton

Highway 15 and Highway 21 into the Anthony Henday is the usual route, and this is one of our regular metro runs in both directions. It is a longer leg than Sherwood Park or Beaumont, but it is still core service area — you get local rates and the same written estimate.

Trails, pathways, and truck access

The city has around 80 km of paved trails plus the river valley network, and amenities like West River’s Edge, Turner Park, and the Dow Centennial Centre are woven into it. It is a genuinely good place to live near a pathway — but if your home backs onto trail instead of a lane, the front door is the only way in and out for furniture. We confirm that before the day so the crew arrives sized for the carry.

Long-distance moves from Fort Saskatchewan

We run long-distance jobs out of the Fort regularly: Calgary and Red Deer south, BC through the mountains, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba east. Written estimate up front, our own crew loading the truck, and one person to call for the whole job.

Standard on every job

  • Written upfront estimate, approved before we load and matched at the end.
  • Full pad-wrapping on furniture and appliances.
  • Trained, uniformed, insured crews — our people, our trucks.
  • Weekend and month-end availability.

Moving in Fort Saskatchewan — FAQs

Is Fort Saskatchewan inside your service area, or is there a travel charge?

It is core service area, no travel surcharge. Same local rates and the same written upfront estimate you would get for an Edmonton move.

Do you schedule around refinery and plant shift change?

Yes. Highways 15 and 21 carry heavy industrial traffic toward Alberta's Industrial Heartland, and shift change can add real time to a loaded run. For tight possession times we book the loaded leg outside those windows.

Can you work with shift rotations for the move itself?

Regularly — a lot of our Fort Saskatchewan customers work rotations. Early starts, weekends, and split load-and-deliver days are normal for us, not special requests.

Do you move in the older river-valley streets near the Fort Heritage Precinct?

Yes. Those streets are older, narrower and have real grade to them, so we size the truck to the street and plan the carry ahead of the day rather than improvising on arrival.

Can you move us from Fort Saskatchewan to another province?

Yes. We run long-distance moves out of the Fort to BC, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, plus Calgary and the rest of Alberta, with our own crew handling the load start to finish.
